Hello. My name is Lora Ann McBride. I have been teaching for 31 years and I still love it! This will be my 5th year teaching ELA at St. Ignatius, and I am so excited to return to the classroom! This year, I hope to run the Middle School Reading Olympics Club as well as a 4 week Reading/Language High School Prep class for the 8th Graders. I love looking for opportunities to learn such as: travelling to Oxford University in England to learn about Literature and the Fantastic (books and works by C.S. Lewis, Lewis Carroll, Pullman, Rowling, and Tolkien), attending PD classes, and various online courses. I am currently 3 classes away from my receiving my Doctorate Degree in Education. It is taking me some time to complete the classwork, but it is a dream of mine that I hope to achieve! I live in Yardley with my husband and two daughters, and I am excited to announce that I will be raising my daughters in the Catholic faith here at St. Ignatius of Antioch Parish. This year will be an exciting year of learning, opportunity, and growth. I can't wait to get started! See you soon!
