Physical Education at St. Ignatius of Antioch is designed to help students develop healthy habits, confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for physical activity. Beginning in Pre-K 3 and continuing through 8th grade, students participate in an engaging curriculum that promotes physical fitness, coordination, teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal responsibility.
Throughout their years at St. Ignatius, students are introduced to a wide variety of individual and team sports, including soccer, basketball, volleyball, hockey, kickball, track and field, and many other recreational activities. Lessons emphasize skill development, game strategy, and the value of perseverance while encouraging students to challenge themselves and celebrate one another's successes.
More than just learning the rules of a game, students discover the importance of cooperation, communication, respect, and leadership—qualities that extend beyond the gymnasium into the classroom and everyday life. Through fun, active, and inclusive experiences, our Physical Education program inspires students to develop healthy lifestyles, build lasting friendships, and grow into confident, compassionate team players.
